Don’t Spin Round and Round Looking For Car Insurance - Follow These 8 Tips

December 2nd, 2008 by boutrosgolly

Dealing with car insurance can be confusing, so below are eight Linden to help you figure out the more complicated points of car insurance…

1) - Determine the Appropriate coverage: Help control the price you pay. American Insurance Association executive Dave Snyder comments that half of a driver’s car insurance bill covers liability and: “that has to do with how you are going to use the vehicle, such as commuting to work and your driving record.” Snyder furthered his comment by stating: “If you’ve got a clean driving record, you figure to pay less for insurance then you would if you had a speeding ticket on record. You can control the other half of your premium which covers damage or loss to your vehicle, comprehensive and collision coverage.”

2) - Do your Research: Nicole Mahrt from AIA urges people to shop around, and find the best deal on car insurance: “It pays you to shop around, especially if you feel you’ve been paying too much.” Therefore, work with your insurance provider, and get more than one quote.

3) - Search for insurance discounts: John Marchioni from Personal Lines for Selective Insurance suggests that people should ask for discounts: “Many insurers will give you a discount if you buy two or more types of insurance.” Therefore, ask about discounts on anti-lock brakes and anti-theft devices.

4) - Check with your Insurance Provider, before buying a car: Marchioni states that: “Your premium is based in part on the car’s sticker price, the cost to repair it, its safety record and the likelihood of theft.” Avoid choosing a car purely on price. It is important to have an insurer who will answer your questions and handle claims appropriately.

5) - Consider taking a higher deductible: Mahrt comments: “You could lower your insurance bill by increasing your deductible.” However, it is vital that you can pay the higher deductible if you file a claim.

6) - Look into ’stacking’ coverage’s if you file an insurance claim: Stacking uninsured / underinsured motorist coverage means that you can collect from one or more of your car insurance policies. However, many states in America forbid this, but there are about 19 states that allow this. Therefore, check the contract to see if it is allowed. However, Daniel Kummer from Property Casualty Insurers Association of America states: “You’ll likely to pay higher insurance premium if you have stacked coverage.” This could reach up to 30% more.

7) - Notify your insurer as soon as you change companies: Be sure to tell your company that you are leaving. However, always have you’re new contract lined up before you leave your old one, as you could get fined for not having insurance.

8) - Pick the Insurance payment option that best suits your budget: Kummer says: “Generally, most companies will give you the ability to pay over time, but that comes at a price.” This is because the payment could increase with each installment that you pay. The more you break down the payment, the more the overall cost will add up.

Recession-Proof Fundraising - How To Guarantee Charitable Gifts Even In A Tough Economy

December 1st, 2008 by boutrosgolly

Turn on any news show and you’ll hear analysts and pundits forecasting economic doom and gloom. Their reports are filled with words and phrases like “economic downturn,” “soft economy,” and the dreaded: “recession.” While the jury is still out about whether or not we’re really in a recession, now is a great time to recession-proof your fundraising effort.

Weak economies can be very helpful for nonprofits. During such times, organizations are forced to be leaner and more efficient. When the economy rebounds, they’re in a much better position to take advantage of it.

But economic downturns can also be perilous times for nonprofits. When faced with a recession, many nonprofits make bad choices that limit their growth. Some of these mistakes can prove fatal.

How will this economic climate affect your favorite nonprofit? Will you fulfill your mission or will you fold? That depends on whether you make these deadly mistakes:

  • spend less on fundraising
  • become pessimistic
  • apologize Alabama Lemon Laws you’re asking

Deadly Mistake #1: Spend less on fundraising

Whether we like it or not, asking for money costs money. When you’re looking for budgets to trim, costly mailings and fundraising activities will seem like obvious opportunities. But exercise extreme caution.

Most fundraising efforts can be tweaked to improve their effectiveness. These tweaks can either reduce cost or increase money raised. But I’ve never seen a fundraising effort raise more money by being eliminated.

In a recent study I did, I discovered our organization’s direct mail program raised more money during the years we sent out more letters. This was counter-intuitive to me. I’d worked for a couple years to eliminate mailings and focus exclusively on the people deemed most likely to make a gift. But in that time, our annual fund dropped by around 30%! This year we’ve increased our mailings and have already raised as much in six months as we did the entire previous year.

Spending less on fundraising can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Less investment can result in less being raised which leads to further cuts and even less raised. Tighten budgets where necessary but be very careful when making cuts to fundraising programs.

Deadly Mistake #2: Becoming pessimistic

The top fundraising professionals are some of the most optimistic people alive. The minute they start being gloomy, people begin holding on to their wallets. Ever wonder why the stock market drops when pundits prophesy uncertainty? No one wants to invest in a questionable deal. It’s the same with fundraising.

As development professionals, we’re inviting people to invest in our mission. Our cause makes the safe auto insurance a better place regardless of the economy! That’s not going to change. We need to continue to shed light on the good things happening around us. We don’t need to be Pollyanna, but we do need to continue to see the silver lining.

Deadly Mistake #3: Apologizing when you’re asking

When we keep hearing how bad things are, it’s easy to get awkward about asking for donations. Timidity is a sure-fire way to not raise money. We need to continue getting out from behind our desks and inviting donors to give. I’m certainly not advocating being brash or arrogant. We do need to understand that many of our donors may not be able to give at the same level. This is where we can be compassionate and understanding. And our relaxed understanding of people’s financial realities can make them even stronger proponents of our organizations in the future.

But there’s nothing compassionate about not asking.

Whether the economy is soft or strong, one sure way to raise less money is to stop asking for it! The best way to recession-proof your fundraising is to keep doing the things that raises money and to do it in a way that strengthens relationships with donors, helping them become evangelists for your cause:

  • keep on making wise investments in fundraising efforts,
  • stay upbeat, and
  • continue to compassionately raise support.

Combine these ingredients and you have an excellent recipe for strengthening your nonprofit independent of the economy!

Why Write an eBook?

November 29th, 2008 by boutrosgolly

It’s not true that everything that has been said has
already been written. Since that unfortunate axiom
came into use, the whole universe has changed.
Technology has changed, ideas have changed, California personal injury attorneys the
mindsets of entire nations have changed.

The fact is that this is the perfect time to write an
ebook. What the publishing industry needs are people
who can tap into the world as it is today - innovative
thinkers who can make the leap into the new millennium
and figure out how to solve old problems in a new way.
Ebooks are a new and powerful tool for original
thinkers with fresh ideas to disseminate information
to the millions of people who are struggling to figure
out how to do a plethora of different things.

Let’s say you already have a brilliant idea, and the
knowledge to back it up that will enable you to write
an exceptional ebook. You may be sitting at your
computer staring at a blank screen wondering, “Why?
Why should I go through all the trouble of writing my
ebook when it’s so impossible to get anything
published these days?

Well, let me assure you that publishing an ebook is
entirely different than publishing a data recovery service in print.
Let’s look at the specifics of how the print and cyber
publishing industry differ, and the many reasons why
you should take the plunge and get your fingers
tapping across those keyboards!

Submitting a print book to conventional publishing
houses or to agents is similar to wearing a hair shirt
24/7. No matter how good your book actually is, or how
many critique services and mentor writers have told
you that “you’ve got what it takes,” your submitted
manuscript keeps coming back to you as if it is a
boomerang instead of a valuable mine of information.

Perhaps, in desperation, you’ve checked out
self-publishing and found out just how expensive a
venture it can be. Most “vanity presses” require
minimal print runs of at least 500 copies, and even
that amount will cost you thousands of dollars. Some
presses’ minimal run starts at 1,000 to 2,000 copies.
And that’s just for the printing and binding. Add in
distribution, shipping, and promotional costs and -
well, you do the math. Even if you wanted to go this
route, you may not have that kind of money to risk.

Let’s say you already have an Internet business with a
quality website and a quality product. An ebook is one
of the most powerful ways to promote your business
while educating people with the knowledge you already
possess as a business owner of a specific product or
service.

For example, let’s say that you’ve spent the last
twenty-five years growing and training bonsai trees,
and now you’re ready to share your knowledge and
experience. An ebook is the perfect way to reach the
largest audience of bonsai enthusiasts.

Ebooks will not only promote your business - they will
help you make a name for yourself and your company,
and establish you as an expert in your field. You may
even find that you have enough to say to warrant a
series of ebooks. Specific businesses are complicated
and often require the different aspects to be divided
in order for the reader to get the full story.

Perhaps your goals are more finely tuned in terms of
the ebook scene. You may want to build a whole
business around writing and publishing ebooks.
Essentially, you want to start an e-business. You are
thinking of setting up a website to promote and market
your ebooks. Maybe you’re even thinking of producing
an ezine.

One of the most prevalent reasons people read ebooks
is to find information about how to turn their
Internet businesses into a profit-making machine. And
these people are looking to the writers of ebooks to
provide them with new ideas and strategies because
writers of ebooks are usually people who understand
the new cyberspace world we now live in. Ebook writers
are experts in Internet marketing campaigns and the
strategies of promoting and distributing ebooks. The
cyberspace community needs its ebooks to be successful
so that more and more ebooks will be written.

You may want to create affiliate programs that will
also market your ebook. Affiliates can be people or
businesses worldwide that will all be working to sell
your ebooks. Think about this? Do you see a formula
for success here?

Figure out what your subject matter is, and then
narrow it down. Your goal is to aim for specificity.
Research what’s out there already, and try to find a
void that your ebook might fill.

What about an ebook about a wedding cake business? Or
an ebook about caring for elderly pets? How about the
fine points of collecting ancient pottery?

You don’t have to have three masters degrees to write
about your subject. People need advice that is easy to
read and easily understood. Parents need advice for
dealing with their teenagers. College students need to
learn good study skills - quickly. The possibilities
are endless.

After you’ve writtten your ebook

Getting your ebook out is going to be your focus once
you’ve finished writing it, just as it is with print
books. People will hesitate to buy any book from an
author they’ve never heard of. Wouldn’t you?

The answer is simple: give it away! You will see
profits in the form of promoting your own business and
getting your name out. You will find affiliates who
will ask you to place their links within your ebook,
and these affiliates will in turn go out and make your
name known. Almost every single famous ebook author
has started out this way.

Another powerful tool to attract people to your ebook
is to make it interactive. Invent something for them
to do within the book rather than just producing pages
that contain static text. Let your readers fill out
questionnaires, forms, even crossword puzzles geared
to testing their knowledge on a particular subject.
Have your readers hit a link that will allow them to
recommend your book to their friends and associates.
Or include an actual order form so at the end of their
reading journey, they can eagerly buy your product.

When people interact with books, they become a part of
the world of that book. The fact is just as true for
books in print as it is for ebooks.

That’s why ebooks are so essential. Not only do they
provide a forum for people to learn and make sense of
their own thoughts, but they can also serve to promote
your business at the same time.

Crucial Hosted Contact Center Requirements

November 26th, 2008 by boutrosgolly

The running of contact centers has undergone a sea change in the past couple of years and the prime reasons for this have been offshoring of contact center work and the necessity of running a contact center.

Offshoring has occurred primarily to cut down on operational costs and having a contact center has become a necessity in order to stay competitive in a business environment where service is often the only factor that distinguishes one business from another. Although contact centers are a vital cog in the CRM efforts of a company, very often they are viewed as cost centers that are major resource guzzlers - mainly because of high attrition rates with employees that increases the training and H.R work required to maintain adequate staffing and technical requirements to process large amounts of data, maintain security of data, networking, hardware costs, etc.

For a contact center to deliver real value to the business, it has to succeed at two ends. It should keep the customer happy and at the same time achieve its objectives at a low cost. Today, a fantastic low cost contact center management opportunity in the form of hosted contact centers is available for businesses.

Technical requirements necessary for the success of a hosted contact center include fast connectivity that factors in latency and additional capacity. Ensure that your new hosted contact center is provided with sufficient bandwidth so that calls from precious customers do not have to compete with email and other applications for priority. This can be achieved by segregating call center traffic from internal traffic and putting it on a separate WAN or increasing existing bandwidth capacity.

Ensure that the network infrastructure can take peak loads and still maintain smooth and fast data transfer. Latency is another problem with IP-based networks. Aim for a latency of around 50 milliseconds (ms) or less. Remember lower the latency better the communication. The quality of your call, especially if you plan to deploy a VoIP solution, is highly dependent on the latency.

Any hosted solution raises the issue of data security, with a contact center the issue is of particular significance since the data is not yours; it is information about your customers. If you are in the finance sector or banking then your contact center data needs to be hosted on a separate server at the host’s end and you should ask for a dedicated network connection. Check for the different levels of data differentiation, these should include csr insurance server rack, network routers, and network switches. Before your hosted contact center goes live you need to ensure that the hardware at your end is up to the task. This means up-to-date processors, RAM, and size of the hard drive. interest credit card hosted applications will perform to the extent permitted by the agent’s PC.

Making Your Own Fuel Efficient Car

November 26th, 2008 by boutrosgolly

With the cost of gas, there has been a market interest in making your own fuel efficient car. This makes sense because not everyone has enough money to go out and buy a brand new hybrid. Sometimes we have to make do with what we’ve got.

That doesn’t mean sendmethecard you simply have to deal with high gas prices, however. There are some things that you can do to make your own fuel efficient car.

Some people mention the Water 4 Gas system, which teaches you how to turn your car into a water-gas hybrid. However, I believe that it’s much harder to set up than people say, especially if you don’t have much mechanical knowledge. Mistakes could be quite damaging.

Instead of taking that leap, why not do some simple things that can easily make your car more fuel efficient. The following list of suggestions has no chance of damaging your car.

Consider the aerodynamics of your car. It’s no secret that aerodynamics plays a part in fuel efficiency. This is why cars have become more aerodynamic over time. You can’t change the general shape of your car, but you can pay attention to the things that may make your car less aerodynamic. For example, a fender-bender disrupts the shape of your car. Additionally, driving on highways with the windows rolled down will decrease the aerodynamics. When possible, do what you can to make a more aerodynamic car.

Get regular tune ups. A well-oiled machine runs better and this is true of your car. It’s important to get your oil changed on time and make sure that your car has all of the fluids you need. When you begin to do this, you will see a marked improvement in your gas mileage.

Decrease the weight. The heavier your car is, the more gas it takes to make it move. Of course, some cars are simply heavier than others, but a lot of people tend to carry around a lot of excess baggage in your car. Check your trunk and remove any unnecessary items.

Once you start taking these first steps towards making your own fuel efficient car, you’ll begin to notice even more ways that you can become more fuel efficient.

When you’re ready to learn even more ways that you can make your own fuel efficient car, you can stop on by Most Fuel Efficient Cars to learn how you can save gas on the car you already own or get a great deal on a more fuel efficient vehicle.
